The Judiciary committee has a key hearing at 10 am on Tuesday! Support our abolitionist priorities by testifying verbally or submitting written testimony. The Senate is voting on the VOTES Act, a key piece of election reform this week. To ensure that no eligible incarcerated voter is denied their constitutional right to vote, write to your senator and urge them to support Amendment 1 using a simple letter writing tool!

Mingus is a writer, educator, and trainer for transformative and disability justice. She is passionate about building the skills, relationships and structures that can transform violence, harm and abuse within our communities and that do not rely on or replicate the punitive system we currently live in. Mia also helped create the disability justice framework, and has played a key role in connecting disability justice with other movements and communities. This event is free, open to the public, and will have an ASL interpreter and closed captioning.

SURJ Boston is a project of Community Change Inc (CCI), a Boston-based organization promoting racial justice and equity by challenging systemic racism and acting as a catalyst for anti-racist learning and action.

In 1968, as a result of the Civil Rights Movement and in response to the Kerner Commission which named racism as "a white problem”, CCI was birthed. CCI promotes racial justice and equity by challenging systemic racism and acting as a catalyst for anti-racist learning and action. CCI accomplishes its mission through education, advocacy and working in solidarity with others to organize for change.
